Memories Are Made Every Day

We had a busy Easter weekend.  Not only was it Easter Sunday yesterday...it was also my daughter's 11th birthday.  So, we had an extra dose of  fun at our house.  We had family over both Saturday and Sunday.  We had this cake and homemade cookies-n-cream ice cream, ham, scalloped potatoes, roasted carrots and then Easter candy on top of that!  Whew.  We'll have a sleepover this coming weekend with her friends.

Last Thursday my Thing 1 had her first Junior High track meet.  She got first in the 1600 meter race {which is about a mile} running against 7th and 8th graders!!  She beat them all.  It was such a wonderful feeling to see her break through the winners tape.  She loves to run!  Not sure where she gets that from, but it is truly a blessing.  She also got 5th in the 800 meter.  She ran that immediately following the 4 x 200 relay.  I think we'll try to avoid that again!  Another busy week is in store.  I'm subbing one day, my quilting class meets this week {I've procrastinated yet again!} and there are appointments, another track meet and a sleepover to prepare for.   These are the days memories are made of!

An Evening at the Ranch

The other night we were outside walking around the garden and my oldest daughter {13} asked if she could use MY camera.  I said sure!  She took it around the yard for quite a while and when I checked it later I found these photos.

I almost cried.  They were so precious.

I'm not patient about my photography.  There weren't tons and tons of pictures on my camera and I just picked the good ones.  She was patient and waited for the right time to snap a good one.

I may be biased, but I think she may have the "eye".
